Introducing archiObjects: Parametric Objects for Archicad

Every architect has a folder of things they keep rebuilding. A sun path drawn by hand, a wind rose pasted in from another tool, a parking layout redrawn for the tenth time. You solve it once per project, then solve it again on the next one.

That’s why we started archiObjects, a growing library of parametric Archicad objects, built by architects who use them in real projects. Everything below is free to download.

    Climate and daylight analysis

These objects put environmental analysis directly into your plans and 3D views. They follow your project location or a custom location, respond to date and time, and let you customize colors and shades so they match your drawing style.

Sun path: a 3D sun path diagram showing how the sun moves across your site through the year.

Sun chart: sun position by date and time, readable at a glance.

Daylight rules: daylight conditions checked against your design.

Wind rose: prevailing wind directions displayed on site.

    Solar

PV array / archiSolarPark: a parametric photovoltaic object for modeling solar panel layouts and solar parks in your site plans and early feasibility studies. The GDL code was developed with Claude’s help.

    Site and planning

archiParking: a parametric parking object, free to use in any project.

Why library objects? Our add-ons extend what Archicad can do. These are library objects: you place them, adjust their parameters, and they behave like native Archicad elements. Each one is built to be:

Parametric: one object that adapts, instead of ten static copies. Practical: solving problems that come up in everyday work. Clean: tidy 2D symbols, sensible settings, and accurate 3D geometry. Get the library

Download the full library as an .lcf file, or pick individual objects, at architools.net/libraries. It works with Archicad 28 and 29. Link: https://www.architools.net/libraries

    What’s next

We’re working on more objects and want to build what architects actually need. If there’s something you keep recreating in every project, tell us. Reply to this post, message us, or comment on our LinkedIn page, and your suggestions will shape the next release.
