1. Open archiAuditor
ArchiTools > archiAuditor. The palette opens docked at the side of the Archicad window. Choose the same menu item again to hide it.
2. Pick your audits
The palette lists the built-in audits grouped by category: Layers, Classification and data, Stories and elevation, Structure, Openings, Zones, Renovation, and Hygiene. Tick the ones you want to run. Start with a handful rather than all 29: a first run on an established project returns a lot, and it is easier to work through one category at a time.
3. Run
Press Run. archiAuditor sweeps the model and lists everything that fails, grouped by audit. Each audit has its own colour, and its failing elements are highlighted in the model in that colour. On Archicad 29 and 30 everything that passed is dimmed, so the failures are the only thing lit.
4. Work through the results
Click a row to select that element in Archicad. Double-click to zoom to it: archiAuditor switches to the element's story first, then selects it, so you land on the element rather than on an empty view. Ctrl-click and Shift-click extend the selection across several rows, so you can fix a group of elements in one go.
5. Re-run after fixing
The results are a snapshot of the moment you pressed Run. After you change the model, run again to confirm the element no longer fails.
6. Export
Export to CSV when you want the list outside Archicad: for a coordination email, an issue tracker, or a record of what the model looked like at a milestone.
