Grouping options
Group by zone number, zone ID, or any custom property. Decimal precision is configurable so your totals match the rest of your project's rounding.
Measured vs calculated area
Measured area uses raw polygon geometry. Calculated area respects Archicad's reductions for low ceilings, sloped surfaces, and excluded areas. Pick whichever matches your regulatory definition.
Multi-level filtering
- Filter by layer: include only the layers that hold countable zones
- Filter by zone category: exclude circulation, mechanical, or other non-net areas
- Filter by property: e.g. only include zones where 'Countable = Yes'
Run modes
- Silent: apply immediately without dialogs (fast, scripted runs)
- Popup: quick confirmation before applying
- Full verification: opens the Summary dialog with a zone tree and exclusion list for thorough review
Summary dialog
Shows every apartment group with its total, plus a tree view of each zone contributing to that total and a list of zones excluded by your filters and why. Useful for catching mistagged zones before applying.
Undo safety
All property changes go through Archicad's undo stack. If you apply and then realize a filter was wrong, Edit > Undo reverts everything in one step.
Expression mode
Instead of writing the apartment total onto every zone, Expression mode keeps all totals in a single Project Info field and turns the result property into a live formula that returns each zone's own apartment total. Ideal for teamwork, you reserve only Project Info, not every zone, and for hotlinked modules, which resolve the host project's totals automatically.
Run vs. Realtime
Run does a one-shot calculation and writes results immediately. Realtime keeps results live, recalculating automatically whenever zones are added, edited, or deleted. Use Selected only to limit a run to the zones currently selected in Archicad.
Verify before you write
Full verification lists every apartment and its zones with Find in 2D, Show in 3D, and Select in 3D buttons, so you can locate and check zones before committing the totals. You can also append the project's area unit (m², ft²) to results.
Free to use
archiSum is free, no subscription or sign-in required. The layer and category filter lists also refresh automatically when you switch projects.
